Even in places without specific legends surrounding them, a nearby other-world seems to span the landmass in every corner. For locals, who are born into a culture ingrained in tales about Hidden People, and for foreigners, who see the unfamiliar tiny cave dwellings as a portal, it is easy to see how this island that feels so extraterrestrial has cultivated and sustained these magical beliefs for so long.
